PIONEER MUSEUM OF ALABAMA
The Pioneer Museum of Alabama has much to offer visitors as they stroll the grounds of
the museum. Out front you first notice our Wood-fired Logging Locomotive and the authentic
Windmill. You will see the Old Time Tractor further back on the grounds near the
chicken coop where the Rooster stays. You will also be able to explore a Log Barn, General
Store, Tenant House, Covered Bridge, and Cabin plus a walking trail spread over our 35
acre grounds.
Our main buildings house a gift shop and over 18,000 artifacts. Much of pioneer life is
represented by the farm tools, clothing, kitchen utensels, and much more. These items offer
an opportunity to personally view actual artifacts in use in Pike County and Southern
Alabama throughout the 1800's and the early 1900's.
The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and is
conveniently located on the highway 231 bypass in Troy, Alabama between Montgomery and
Dothan. Turn into our front gate between the Logging Locomotive and the Windmill.
